My unique rendition of Mere Rashqe Qamar

It's now a trend to re-invent old melodies. Out of the many, one that made a comeback in 2017 was Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s Mere Rashqe Qamar in the Ajay Devgan starrer Baadshaho. This song was reinterpreted by Music Director Tanishk Bagchi. Although the movie tanked in the box office, the song gained immense popularity with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's rendition.

I am happy to share that version of Mere Rashqe Qamar, an international collaboration with producer Keethan from U.K and musicians from Chennai, has created quite a stir in the social media circuit. Because of the blessings of technology, musicians from all over the world can come together and create an entire master recording while reaching millions of people through YouTube and other social media channels.

I decided to add my personal touch to add it by adding few lines from Maestro Ghulam Ali’s ghazal Ae Husn Beparwah Tujhe and blending it with Mere Rashqe Qamar. Although the song has elements from raag Sindhu Bhairavi, I have also added some classical sargam in my rendition.

Thank you to all the musicians who have come together and made this collaboration a rocking success!

I hope you all enjoy it.
